La putin timp dupa ce am ajuns la hotel a ajuns si Anders, asa ca am iesit cu entuziasm la explorat de oras. Hanoi e supranumit "Parisul Asiei de Sud-Est". Fara nici un fel de rautate, chiar nu am nici cea mai vaga idee de unde se trage asocierea, pentru ca nimic din Hanoi nu m-a dus cu gandul la Paris. Sunt niste lucruri interesante de vazut, intr-adevar, cum ar fi cateva dintre cele 7 lacuri din mijlocul orasului, inchisoarea unde au fost detinuti prizonierii de razboi americani, vreo 2-3 muzee (nu foarte educationale din pacate, pentru ca in principal textele sunt in vietnameza), cea mai veche universitate din Vietnam (aproape 1000 de ani), temple si catedrale (pe care ce-I drept nu prea am apucat sa le vedem).

Hanoi la origine a fost un oras micut, practic centrat in jurul a vreo 36 de strazi, fiecare cu un anumit scop - strada cu bijuterii, cu matasuri, cu picturi, etc etc. Ideea s-a pastrat si pana azi, astfel ca in centrul vechi al orasului strazile inca poarte destinatii specifice - strada cu pantofi, cu haine, cu electronice, cu suveniruri, cu biciclete, cu baruri si restaurante, cu… tot ce-ti mai poti inchipui. E un concept cu bune si rele - pe de o parte e grozav ca daca iti trebuie pantofi stii exact pe ce strada sa mergi, pe de alta e frustrant pentru ca daca nu stii care e strada cu bicicletele poti sa te plimbi in sus si-n jos prin oras pana ametesti… si daca vietnameza ta lasa de dorit, vremea va fi cu atat mai lunga.

O atractie turistica mai speciala e complexul Ho Chi Min, ce cuprinde casa in care a locuit presedintele, birourile unde a lucrat, garajele, precum si mausoleul unde e pastrat corpul lui in ultimii aproape 40 de ani. E o experienta inedita vizitarea mausoleului, si faci repede cunostinta cu strictetea si disciplina vietnamezilor  - in primul rand tinuta de intrare trebuie sa fie corespunzatoare, cu marea parte a corpului acoperita. Fotografierea corpului lui HCM nu e permisa, astfel ca la intrare ni s-au luat camerele foto; apoi ne-am pus la o coada imensa (si pentru ca erau 17 grade si eu in slapi nu a prea fost fun deloc) si pe masura ce ne aproapiam de intrare, gardienii de pe margine deveneau din ce in ce mai stricti, pana la punctul in care pe treptele de intrare am fost instruiti (nu foarte bland) sa scoatem mainile din buzunare, sa stam in sir doi cate doi, sa nu vorbim, sa mergem intr-un anumit ritm si altele asemenea. In momentul in care am intrat in mausoleum temperatura a scazut si mai mult, si dupa cateva trepte am intrat in sala principala. Corpul e intr-un cosciug/sicriu de sticla, iar nenea e alb la fata si arata foarte linistit, calm, zen. In cele patru colturi ale sicriului stau drept 4 gardieni, iar sirul de vizitatori este in permanenta miscare, astfel ca nu ai voie sa te opresti deloc, ci il priveste pe nenea din mers pe masura ce ocolesti sicriul.

Ce e si mai interesant e ca se pare ca HCM a cerut ca atunci cand moare sa fie incinerat, si nici vorba sa fie pus la expozitie. Se pare ca oficialii vietnamezi au considerat insa ca cetatenii trebuie sa aiba o modalitate sa-si arate respectul fata de tatuca, asa ca nu numai ca nu l-au incinerat, dar l-au si pus in formol ca sa ramana vesnic impreuna cu poporul, in stare "naturala". :)
