Scriu aceste randuri in timp ce iau micul dejun pe un restaurant plutitor, undeva pe un rau in putin cunoscuta tara asiatica Laos. E probabil cea mai uleioasa omleta pe care am mancat-o vreodata… dar cafeaua, cafeaua e tare de tot! :D.

Decizia de a pleca inspre Laos (una dintre putinele tari din lume comuniste inca) a fost luata intr-o seara de noiembrie, la 2 minute dupa ce primul gand a rasarit in minte. Cu biletele de avion rezervate in aceeasi seara, bulgarele s-a pus in miscare… numai ca s-a cam oprit la nici 1 cm de plecare, pentru ca planificarea celorlalte amanunte (cazare, etc) a intarziat sa apara.

Asa ca in seara de 23 decembrie stiam ca prima noapte in Vientiane (capitala Laosului) o voi petrece la un Couch Surfer pe nume Lucky(pentru cei care nu sunt familiari cu conceptul de couch surfing, aruncati un ochi aici, www.couchsurfing.org. E in opinia mea cea mai buna metoda de a calatori), ziua de Craciun tot in Vientiane, iar apoi o voi lua incet inspre un fel de statiune situata pe mal de rau in mijloc de padure.

Si cam atat cu planuitul.

Cand a venit vorba de infaptuit, lucrurile au stat cam asa: aterizat in 24 dimineata in Vientiane, luat aproape o ora jumate sa ies din aeroport - timpul in Laos e relativ si oamenii astia sunt probabil cei mai chillaxed dintre popoare. Viza de intrare e 30usd, si poti sa platesti NUMAI in usd.Astfel ca, dupa 30 de min de stat la coada am descoperit ca toate cele 4 tipuri de monede pe care le aveam la mine imi sunt cu totul nefolositoare, asa ca a trebuit sa fiu escortata afara din aeroport sa convertesc dolari singaporezi in dolari americani.

15 minute si un taxi mai tarziu eram in centrul orasului, intr-o cafenea frantuzeasca, cu baghete si wi-fi (dap, sa dau pe spatel!). Am luat legatura cu Lucky si din nou peste 15 minute eram pe scuterului lui, in drum spre casa lui pentru a-mi lasa bagajul. Acolo ne-au intampinat Jo si Toh, surorile lui, iar din cauza ca el avea treaba, Toh m-a luat in primire si m-a plimbat cu scuterul pe la templele din oras. Interesant a fost ca m-a luat de mana si nu mi-a dat drumul pana in momentul cand a trebuit sa ne despartim - m-am simtit cu totul pretuita!

Oamenii din Laos sunt in principal hindusi/budisti, asa ca e plin de temple peste tot, iar ei din putinii bani pe care ii au folosesc o buna parte pentru ofrande destinate diferitilor zei. Un alt lucrur interesant pe care il fac este sa cumpere vrabiute in colivii, pe care apoi le elibereaza, iar eliberarea vrabiutelor e echivalentul eliberarii de pacate si de lucrurile rele din sufletele lor.

Dupa ce Toh a plecat la curs eu mi-am continuat plimbarile prin oras, printre tuk-tuk - uri si Mercedes-uri, cersetori si magnati. Am fost foarte uimita de numarul de straini, copii si caini pe care i-am vazut pe strazi. Cetatenilor din Laos le plac animalele de companie si le place sa faca si multi copii, de care sunt preocupati mai mult decat de slujbele lor (cand am vrut sa cumpar ceva de la un magazin am fost ignorata total pentru cateva minute, pana cand mama a terminat de dragalasit copilul).
Judecand dupa numarul de straini se pare ca turistii sunt cu adevarat atrasi de ceva in tara asta "pierduta" in mijlocul Asiei…
